Part-Time Custodian

Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Measurement Incorporated (smÂÛ̳) Custodians are responsible for general maintenance and cleaning duties throughout smÂÛ̳’s buildings, campuses, and grounds. Custodians will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

• Reporting to a Custodian Lead who is responsible for the direction and assignment of custodial duties and services in smÂÛ̳’s facilities, campuses, and grounds

• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and bathrooms using established practices and procedures with approved materials

• Cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; emptying and cleaning wastebaskets and trash containers; emptying and cleaning ash trays and cigarette urns; and refilling restroom paper dispensers

• Assisting with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, and other assigned project setups

• Stripping, cleaning, buffing, and applying floor finish to hard surface floors, as well as vacuuming and shampooing carpets

• Following instructions regarding the directed use of chemicals and supplies

• Attending safety meetings and other related meetings

• Attending classes, workshops, and training programs as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, first aid, CPR, and working relationships

• Assisting with inventory control and security

• Safely, responsibly operating and using all company-owned vehicles, equipment, and property

• Enforcing and supporting policies established by Director of Operations

• Handling recycling materials

• Performing various duties as required or assigned by Custodian Lead or managers

smÂÛ̳’s Custodians must be able to perform general physical activities that include using industry standard equipment, climbing, lifting, walking, stooping, and handling/ loading/ unloading of materials. Additionally, Custodians must be able to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds consistently or repeatedly. Custodians must be able to read, write, comprehend written and verbal work instructions, and be able to communicate smÂÛ̳ly.
